Pumpkins and Winter Squash

This resource has three lesson plans and other additional resources that exposes students to pumpkins and winter squash. In the first lesson plan, “Discovering Pumpkins and Winter Squash,” students will compare and contrast the two vegetables and observe their seeds. In the second lesson plan, students will read and discuss a book called Pumpkin Circle by George Levenson, and as a class will make Pumpkin Dip/ Mini Pumpkin Pies. The third lesson plan is an arts and crafts activity where students will draw, color, and cut out their favorite variety of squash.
