Job Announcing the Farm to School Network Team

Meet the Farm to School Network Leadership Team!

For the last few years, we have heard from farm to school advocates and practitioners in Massachusetts that they are interested in forming a network to advance farm to school programs across the Commonwealth. Meetings with stakeholders, learning from farm to school partners in other states, and the networking meetings at last year’s Massachusetts Farm to Cafeteria Conference all pointed to the need for a more formal structure for this Network. So today we are pleased to announce the next step in developing this robust network — the Farm to School Network Leadership Team.

The Leadership Team is made up of 12 individuals from different regions of the state who represent a diversity of roles within the farm to school movement. They were selected from over 30 applicants and demonstrate great creativity and commitment to advancing the farm to school movement. These individuals will help define and implement the goals of the Network.

• Diane Krol, Nutrition Specialist, New England Dairy & Food Council
• Graeme Marcoux, Environmental Science Teacher, Salem High School
• Jacqueline Morgan, Director of Food Services for the Milton Public Schools
• Christina Nordstrom, Director of the Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity Prevention Program, Massachusetts Department of Public Health
• Val Snowdon, Education Program Manager, Mill City Grows
• Shadeah Suleiman, Food Equity Advocate and Organizer
• Andrew Stratton, Food Service Director, Granby and Easthampton Public     Schools
• Madison Walker, School Nutrition Director, Greenfield Public Schools
• David Webber, Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources
• Cathy Wirth, Agriculture Program Director, The Trustees

The group had it’s first meeting in May and is beginning to outline their next steps and develop a structure that will encourage participation and engagement from farm to school advocates across the state.
