Harvest of the Month For Secondary Educators

Registration for 2024-2025 year is now open!

Harvest of the Month for Secondary Educators provides interdisciplinary curriculum aligned to standards, workshops focused on the needs of secondary educators and students, and age appropriate material for grades 7-12. Educators who sign up will receive a monthly eBlast that explores the HOTM crops, includes downloadable curriculum, current events, book suggestions, and opportunities for professional growth. Each month you will receive a STEM-based lesson, a Humanities lesson, and a Garden lesson.

What to Expect

You will:

Incorporate the Harvest of the Month program into your classroom lessons at least once per month either by creating your own lesson around a Harvest of the Month crop, using the Mass. Farm to School provided lessons, and/or featuring the crop for taste tests, sharing information on a bulletin board, or other means.
Utilize classroom materials including the Harvest of the Month posters and trading cards each month.
Share your experience with Mass. Farm to School and our community.

We (Mass. Farm to School) will:

Mail Harvest of the Month materials (8.5×11 posters for each featured crop) for display and distribution in your classroom.
Send monthly e-newsletter with lesson plans, book recommendations, family newsletters, and more.
Provide access to additional resources for curricular & garden connections and at-home activities, social media post templates, home-scaled recipes, taste testing activities, and more.
