This is a two step activity in which students will learn about potatoes and develop their food literacy skills. The first activity is a potato tasting activity where students will learn about four different varieties of potatoes: Russet, Red, Blue, and Yukon Gold. In the second activity, students will make celery mashed potatoes. Students will learn how to use a variety of kitchen tools and improve their cooking skills (e.g measuring and reading recipe directions).
