In this lesson, there are three math activities that can be tailored to students in grades 3-6: (1) Fractions and Pizza Probability, (2) Pizza in Real Time, and (3) Pizza Math. In the first activity students calculate how many pizzas it would take to feed the whole class, and are asked how many combinations of toppings can be put on a pizza given 3 available toppings. In the second activity, students are asked to calculate the real amount of time (in months or years) how long it takes for each ingredient on the pizza to get from farm to table. In the third activity, students are asked to survey their peers and analyze the results (questions and directions for the activity are tailored towards each grade).
